How to Fail an Agency

In this talk, I share 7 of my biggest challenges kickstarting a Remote WordPress Agency. From landing my first website gig on Upwork for $1,200 USD to navigating the 43+ tasks required to build and launch a functional website, these are the lessons I learned while cycling and backpacking across Asia since 2017.

A friendly reminder: You do not need a tech background to kickstart a successful WordPress agency. From my experience, the WordPress community is filled with bootstrappers, builders, and creative thinkers with a passion for solving problems and piecing together puzzles.

All you need is a little courage when it comes to packaging, pricing, and pitching your services. And, as you do so, I wish you nothing but success on your journey to building a successful WordPress Agency.

Afterall, the web design market is expected to grow 8.5% CAGR which USD $61.23 billion in 2025 to USD $92.06 billion by 2023 (see slide 9). Which means there’s a lot of opportunity for all of us to take our piece of the web design pie.

p.s.,

Thank you everyone for joining my first-ever talk in front of a live group of people! I was incredibly nervous at first but you were all so awesome and asked a lot of good questions.
